Since I mailed my Ancestry DNA kit on December 8th, I have checked my DNA page on their website daily. Obsessively, I suppose. Until today, I had not made it past the “Activated” segment on the progress bar. But today I made it 2/3 of the way across the progress bar into the “Lab Processing” stage. Lab processing, according to the site, began yesterday, December 22nd.
There is one more step to go on that progress bar, and that is “Done.” Pardon me, my impatience is showing, tempered only by relief that the kit made it there and the hope of things to come.
I suppose I could take up less stressful hobbies, like watching paint dry. But what fun is that?
