The 2024 GRIP Genealogy Institute offers 20 courses to genealogists. The virtual session, with 11 courses, runs June 23rd through 28th. The in-person session, with nine courses, is in Pittsburgh from July 14th through 19th. Registration is open and some courses have available seats.
I am one of the teachers in Paula Stuart-Warren’s course, Digging Deeper: Records, Tools, and Skills. Digging Deeper offers the intermediate level genealogist in-depth sessions on records, methods, and essential skills. In addition, student groups work on a research problem designed around a document, and each student is encouraged to submit a personal research problem for the class to discuss in hopes of gaining new ideas. This is the perfect opportunity to potentially make progress on your nagging research problem.
If Digging Deeper isn’t your cup of tea, check out the 19 other courses offered this summer. There are classes on regional research, DNA evidence, documentation, ethnic and social groups, military records, overcoming records losses, and more.
GRIP is being run by the National Genealogical Society in 2024. For information about the institute, to see prices, and to review the lineup of courses, visit the GRIP website.
If you want a seat, register soon.
I hope to see you there!
