Affiliate Links

Content written by Debbie Mieszala may contain banner advertisements and some text links that point to commercial enterprises via an affiliate relationship. Readers of these might follow an affiliate link and visit a commercial web site. Any resulting purchases made by a visitor might result in a commission being paid to Debbie Mieszala. Good afternoon!!

I am taking a shot in the dark here.
I have been trying to do this myself with nothing but frustrations.

All I am looking for is my mothers original birth certificate IF one exists and possibly where she was actually born. I am not looking for reunions or anything like that. Just ethnic background.

IF you can help that would be great.

I KNOW she was adopted from Guardian Angel Orphanage in Chicago.
    Her DOB is XXXX
    Adopted Name is XXXX
    by XXXXX
    in Chicago
    XXX passed XXXXX

Any help would be great as the online sites are not.

    Enjoy your weekend!

    Teresa

Teresa, your birth mother may order her original birth certificate. See my page on Adoption Research — Illinois to find links to order forms for original birth certificates, the state adoption registry, and places to order non-identifying information.

Teresa, I took the liberty of removing your mother’s identifying information from your post. I hope you don’t mind.

      Hi Teresa,
If you are ONLY looking for ethnic info, then shoot for DNA test, why search in the dark when the DNA test can tell you?

      Best of luck.

She passed away in 2002…lol Oh well…

You are eligible for free Confidential Intermediary service as the child of a deceased adopted person. I believe that you are also able to obtain identifying information on the parties named on your mother’s original birth certificate.
